PHS funded Investigators, and those Investigator funded by agencies and foundations that have elected to follow FCOI guidelines, must complete the FCOI training upon: joining Northeastern University or at the time they are first included on a proposed of funded research project funded by an agency that requires FCOI compliance.

Training must be re-taken every four (4) years or earlier as may be required by the University (see the FCOI policy for details). The acceptance of new awards or the renewal of current awards my be delayed by a lapsed CITI training. For the most efficient award set up, ensure the CITI training for yourself and all your project Investigators are maintained and up to date.

The online training module is available through the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) and includes the following modules:

Financial Conflicts of Interest:

      1. Overview, Investigator Responsibilities, and COI Rules (ID: 15070)

Institutional Responsibilities as They Affect Investigators (ID: 15072)

To complete the modules, visit the Training webpage.

NU-RES recommends downloading a copy of your certificate of completion for your files. NU-RES strongly recommends adding a calendar reminder 90 days prior to 4-year anniversary of your most recent training. This will facilitate ensuring your training is up to date and reduce delays in processing awards.
