Description – The workshop will discuss the importance of self-exploration in mitigating bias. We will explore how bias impacts the lab and research space.We will also address specific instances of observed bias in academic settings, from the lab to professional meetings and peer review sessions. Practical methods for addressing aggressions, such as how to handle instances of bias in a direct, collegial manner will be included. We will also discuss how to grow a lab culture through your personal leadership that embraces these key concepts.
