NSF news from the January Federal Demonstration Partnership (FDP) meeting

January 21, 2020
  • Updated NSF PAPPGuide is likely to be released at the end of January; 90 days post-release (est: May, 2020), researchers must adhere to it
  • Updated PAPPGuide contains the requirement to use an approved format to generate Current and Pending and Biosketch – NSF is partnering with NIH to use SciENcv (an approved format)
  • Non-approved formats will result in a FAILED Submission
  • SciENcv passes structured XML information in the background that NSF uses to feed other systems
  • ORCID is a primary key ID used to identify researcher’s personal data so that it can be pulled into forms, and is required by some publishers
  • Research.gov update: Ability to process Collaborative Full Proposals from multiple organizations coming Spring 2020
