Role of Researchers in Protecting Research from Disaster

The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine issued a consensus report in August of 2017:  Strengthening the Disaster Resilience of the Academic Biomedical Research Community: Protecting the Nation’s Investment.    The fundamental goals include protecting human life, research animals, property, data and the environment and to maintain the integrity and continuity of the investigator’s research program.   The report includes recommendations for the Role of Researchers in Protecting Research from Disaster,  including the importance of preparedness, scenario and implementation plans for operational continuity.
