Coastal Sustainability Institute (CSI)
Director: Geoffrey C. Trussell, Professor and Chair, Marine and Environmental Sciences
CSI is creating cleaner, safer, smarter coastal communities, using environmental sensing, predictive analytics, and other technology tools to reduce threats at the land-sea interface, including sea-level rise, collapsing fisheries, coastal pollution, and gaps in port security. The institute is based at Northeastern’s Marine Science Center on the Massachusetts coast.
