Government Affairs

The Vice Provost for Research Government Affairs & Strategic Partnerships serves as a liaison between Northeastern University, federal funding research agencies and Capitol Hill. We work with Northeastern faculty to collaborate on large-scale research projects, from biotechnology to cybersecurity. We also drive novel university-industry-government partnerships that secure major federal funding awards for Northeastern University. In collaboration with university partners we develop consortia around research and innovation with globally-relevant expertise, in order to address international research challenges.

Strategic Partnerships

We work in partnership with the Office of Government Relations, which is focused on higher education policy in Washington, D.C., to advance the University’s agenda, and to coordinate effective action on issues that affect higher education in the United States, such as lifelong learning, student aid, immigration and tax policy.

The office of City and Community Engagement is the University’s primary liaison with neighborhood and community groups and works to facilitate partnerships between those organizations and the University’s students, faculty, and staff. In addition, the office works with community organizations and representatives to help to direct University resources toward vital community-defined needs and goals.
